Pro Football Returns!

The 2012-2013 National Football League (NFL) season officially began yesterday. One of the three major professional athletics, watching football is one of the favorite past times of the autumn and early winter sports fans. Sunday afternoon and evening games, along with Monday night competitions attract millions of viewers to broadcast media.

One of the most physical of the rough and tumble sports, the NFL has provided ample eye-candy for the gay community. The sight of men in tight-fitting uniforms slapping each other on the ass and engaged in body contact has been a fantasy for many same gender loving men. Due to this macho tradition, the NFL management and players have a tradition of homophobia that has been ingrained in the American psyche.

That bigoted custom is now being ever-so-slowly erased. Several years ago, the NFL implemented mandatory sensitivity training for all rookie (new) players. Part of this curriculum includes respect for gays and the evils of homophobia. It appears that this education is now beginning to bear fruit. Within the past week, two players, Brendon Ayanbadjo of the Baltimore Ravens NFL franchise and Chris Kluwe of the Minnesota Vikings have publicly announced and defended their support for marriage equality. Their courage is commended and serves as a shining example of the influence of professional athletes in our society.

Now, if we can just convince the NFL powers-that-be to discard those concealing uniforms and let the players compete naturally: in the nude! That is a guarantee of sell-out audiences at all games! Let's play football n-a-k-e-d!

The Queen's Olympic Gold

Her Majesty's Olympic gold treasure includes some very excellent and manly eye-candy, as witnessed by billions worldwide during the 2012 London Summer Olympics, set to end tomorrow. It's been four months since I've posted a Saturday post, and I didn't want to miss out on celebrating the London Games. The two men pictured above are both of British-Caribbean descent and self-identify themselves as Black. The top photograph is of Team UK sprinter in both the 100 meter and 200 meter events, James Ellington. He sports an impressive set of tattoos with a shaved head.

The second photo is of Louis Antoine Smith, Team UK gymnastics competitor and pommel horse medalist. Smith won the Bronze Medal on the pommel horse in Beijing, China, in 2008 and the Silver Medal in his own capital city, London, this summer. Smith aspires to be a fashion designer. Both men are special additions to the crown jewels. It's great to see that neither man apply a razor to their armpit hair.

Above, James Ellington deliberately is shirtless to show off his body ink. I know that he knows exactly how sexy he really is! I'd like to see more of that body. Looking good there, James!

Louis Smith went all-the-way naked in a photo shoot for the June issue of Cosmo UK. Displaying his muscles and skills, Louis posed nude in a charitable appeal for men's cancers research. Commenting on posing without clothes in front of a camera, Smith said that he's comfortable nude as he's proud of his body. He's never been ashamed of his nudity. Cool!

Queen Elizabeth II, as the British monarch, is also Head of the British Commonwealth. She's also the Queen of Jamaica, a Commonwealth member country. So here's a picture below of Jamaica's speed demon and eye-candy delight, Usain Bolt!

Full Speed Ahead

Ready or not, those fun summer days are fast approaching. It's the last day of April, so you know they can't be far off. All those lazy, crazy, hazy days of summer! I can hardly wait! A time for outdoor fun with plenty of sunshine and carefree activities.

One of the fringe benefits for this season of the year is the abundance of eye-candy on parade right in front of me. Gone are the layers of bulky clothing needed for comfort. During summertime, there's no need for all weather gear. The heat and humidity eliminate that requirement and ensure that as much manly skin as possible is bared for me to admire. All I have to do is open my eyes and look around.

Afternoons in the park, days at the beach, lake or pool, a pick-up game on an athletic field or a local street festival are all popular summer past-times. These and other locations serve as magnets for men to congregate and take advantage of the season and hang out. The accompanying natural temperatures extend an open invitation for my gender to shed their shirts and display their fine physiques. Some dudes are so bold to even offer a little more than just their torso for me to behold.

Neighborhood basketball and volleyball courts or softball diamonds provide men with leisure opportunities as well as the occasion to exercise in a social setting. Often, as shirts are removed and in loose-fitting athletic shorts, more skin is exposed than originally intended. I let no option escape my roving eye. While I'm playing hoops, I sometimes intentionally offer a provocative glimpse of what I have to anyone interested. Believe me, there are those in the playing arena who are definitely looking to play with more than just a basketball!

Aquatic facilities/locations offer more than their fair share of masculine hotness. There's nothing better than sitting back and watching the spectacle of manhood in all shapes, shades and sizes. It's literally an all-you-can-eat buffet marching right before your eyes; in some instances, you don't even have to move your head as many men want to strut their stuff for all to see. The benefits work both ways: for the lookers and the posers! Of course, a nude beach or resort is a definite paradise that all gay men can appreciate.

Neighborhood events and local festivals provide opportunities for checking out men, although it usually doesn't give us the amount of skin as the choices listed above. There are moments that some pleasant surprises that unfold for us on occasion. I know, at times I've found myself in more than just an interesting situation when I least expected it to happen. For that reason, we shouldn't overlook any chance to observe manly beauty in all places.

Summer is fast approaching. "Full speed ahead!" is my constant motto!

March Madness

It's early springtime and that means that we're now at that point on the sports calendar where we transition from basketball into baseball. To mark this ocassion, for the next three weeks, the on-court phenomenon known as March Madness: the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship begins. The March Madness event is a single elimination collegiate tournament that eventually produces the national champion who gains a years worth of bragging rights and high school recruitment benefits among this country's colleges and universities.

I happen to like basketball. It's one sport I was able to decently perform as a child and teen. It captured my attention when we played the traditional game of "shirts and skins," where one team removed their shirts in order to distinguish itself from the opponents who kept their shirts on. Being a gay teen, shirtless guys on the hardwood court provided unlimited eye-candy without bringing too much focus onto myself. Playing without a shirt was as close to playing naked as I became aware of my preference for nudity.

This affection for the game of basketball has followed me all my life. Even now, as an adult, I enjoy a neighborhood pick-up game or watching televised games, collegiate or professional. Yes, I continue to look at the men: the players, the hoops hunks. I can't change who I am, my sexuality. At the same time, I also admire the skills, the athletic prowess and the competition. I really enjoy the game.

Why post a picture of NBA-star Kobe Bryant with an article on NCAA basketball? Aside from the obvious: he's a naked black man and I'm a white man who appreciates the beauty of all black men, he's also an accomplished player. True, he's had problems in his past, both on and off the court. Who among us hasn't? Then there's that stiff fine he had to pay last year; imposed by the NBA for a homophobic slur he uttered during a televised game. Well, he apologized publicly for it and I believe that he's truly sorry. Can we now move on? Besides, he is a handsome man: the epitome of a hoops hunk!

I'll be viewing the March Madness spectacle while nude in the privacy of my home. Hopefully, in the company of a few of my black nudist friends as we discuss the game plays and the physiques of the players. March Madness is a good thing for gay men everywhere: why watch anything else?
