I have a close friend from West Africa, Nigeria, to be exact, who didn't believe me when I told him that black people get sunburned. That is, until one weekend we spent together, hanging out nude at Sandy Hook Beach, when he burned on his ass and cock. He learned then that yes, no matter how dark a man's complexion, all people are susceptible to the ultra-violet (UV) rays from the sun.

 

The skin tone of a man may increase their level of sun tolerance. The darker complexion can withstand higher amounts of sun rays, but it does have limits. At a certain point, sunburn affects us all. None of us enjoy a natural immunity. This condition has the same serious implications for everyone, no matter their race.

 

Melanoma, or skin cancer, is one of the most severe results of unprotected exposure to sunlight. To prevent this, we use sunscreen. These are available in a variety of styles, creams, lotions, gels and sprays. None are race-specific, so any brand works for all.

Pro Football Returns!

 

 

The 2012-2013 National Football League (NFL) season officially began yesterday. One of the three major professional athletics, watching football is one of the favorite past times of the autumn and early winter sports fans. Sunday afternoon and evening games, along with Monday night competitions attract millions of viewers to broadcast media.

 

One of the most physical of the rough and tumble sports, the NFL has provided ample eye-candy for the gay community. The sight of men in tight-fitting uniforms slapping each other on the ass and engaged in body contact has been a fantasy for many same gender loving men. Due to this macho tradition, the NFL management and players have a tradition of homophobia that has been ingrained in the American psyche.

 

That bigoted custom is now being ever-so-slowly erased. Several years ago, the NFL implemented mandatory sensitivity training for all rookie (new) players. Part of this curriculum includes respect for gays and the evils of homophobia. It appears that this education is now beginning to bear fruit. Within the past week, two players, Brendon Ayanbadjo of the Baltimore Ravens NFL franchise and Chris Kluwe of the Minnesota Vikings have publicly announced and defended their support for marriage equality. Their courage is commended and serves as a shining example of the influence of professional athletes in our society.

 

Now, if we can just convince the NFL powers-that-be to discard those concealing uniforms and let the players compete naturally: in the nude! That is a guarantee of sell-out audiences at all games! Let's play football n-a-k-e-d!

Naked Camping Trip Notes

As I posted here last Thursday, August 30, 2012, my boyfriend and I were off on a nakation the following morning. A camping trip to a nude resort in the mountains of West Virginia, about a two-and-a-half hour drive from our home. It was the first time either one of us had visited this location and our first camping experience.


First, let me start by saying we were the only biracial couple onsite. That alone got us second and third looks from our fellow campers. Now, it could be possible that they stares were because of my BF's cock: he's pretty well endowed and it does swing gracefully when he walks about. Maybe it was penis envy of him and jealousy of what I'm able to enjoy. We're still trying to figure that one out.


Don't misunderstand me, the folks there were friendly. It was just the fact that men stared at us whenever we walked past. It was a little strange. Friday night, BF was the only black man at the resort. A black couple from Ohio came on Saturday; another black couple from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (we hung out with them) arrived Saturday evening. There was a hispanic/latino couple there from Baltimore, Maryland. That was it for the men of color population.

The property, Roseland Resort and Campgrounds, was well kept and landscaped. The freedom to roam at will, without having to wear clothes, was refreshing. For hygiene reasons, we did have to dress for the restaurants. The amenities included pool (pictured below) hiking and biking trails, sun deck, observation deck, game room, hot tub, exercise room and social hall. There are a gift shop and convenience store on campus.

There are cabins and guest rooms available. We used a tent (the economy plan). We aren't experienced campers so that was interesting. We both agree that if we return, a cabin or guest room is going to be the way to go. Neither of us are the "rugged, rough-it" types. A bed is much more pleasant than a sleeping bag and air mattress (even when snuggling)! 

I couldn't get used to the smell of insect repellent, which was strongly recommended. The residual scent didn't seem to bother my boyfriend. Neither one of us are accustomed to the variety of bugs and crawling creatures that favor the outdoors. I guess it's whatever a man is familiar. Sometimes, the nights seemed too quiet.

The facility does offer socials at night during the camping season (May through Labor Day). Friday night's theme was Black Out dance. Saturday, it was a Hodown and Sunday night: Glow. The events were fun although the Hodown wasn't particularly appealing, music-wise. The themed parties were posted on their website in advance so that one was no surprise for us.

I love this photograph! Personally, there is something sensually (as opposed to sexually) appealing about a nude black man, in a backyard, with only a pair of boots. It captures both my attention and my imagination! I'd like nothing more than to be in that same yard with this man as a playmate.
