Treat Yourself

Probably, most of us recognize and understand the need to provide the basic essentials for ourselves and our loved ones: food, shelter, warmth, etc. In order to do this, we have sources of income that allow us the ability to pay for these comforts. This revenue production usually entails employment: performing a task or responsibility in exchange for cash. Bottom line: a job. More often than not, this process of maintaining a consistent income involves more than the actual job itself.

Work begets work. We have to devote energy and time so that we are properly prepared to fulfill our employment obligations. As most of us don't have the good fortune or luxury of working in a naturist/nudist environment, we have to make sure that we have the attire or uniforms clean, neat and ready for us to wear. We have to prepare the meal that we bring to our workplace for our break. If special tools are required for the job, we have to make certain that they are in working order.

Then there is the commute both to and from our jobsite. If we walk to our job, that involves time and energy. If public transportation is used, we need bus passes, exact change, subway/train tickets or tokens, etc. If we carpool or drive, we need fuel, vehicle maintenance and a place to garage/park. The necessities required just to be able to perform our jobs is endless and infringes on our free or leisure time.

The situations listed above are by no means all-inclusive of everything that is needed in order to perform our professional duties. It does present a clear picture that the jobs we hold include more than the tasks necessary to satisfactorily complete the minimum expectations. That brings us to the purpose of this observation. We all need some time to regroup after expending the energies necessary just to earn our paychecks.

I'm not just referring to the weekends, the traditional relaxation periods of our lives. Those are good and important. I'm also advocating a time during the customary work-week that we devote for ourselves. Quality time exclusively for us: just to do whatever. Read a book, write, watch TV/DVD, listen to music, cook, take a long walk, play a sport, paint, etc. "Me time simply and solely for me." This can even include surfing the web for porn and then masturbating, as long as it's soothing and stress free. The purpose is to give ourselves a break from everyday woes. This "chillax" treat is important to ourselves, emotionally, mentally and physically. It helps us release tension and rejuvenate our attitudes.

My evening for this chill-down is Thursdays. I can take advantage of the moment to refocus and regroup before the last workday of the week. I can begin the weekend refreshed and with some semblance of energy. My Thursdays permit me the opportunity to glance at the upcoming weekend agenda in order to make any last-minute adjustments. It also affords the the chance to work-up a good sweat playing a drop-in game of hoops. If for some reason I have to schedule something for a Thursday night, I make sure that I allot another evening for myself. As a rule, I try my damnest to keep Thursdays-after-work free for me.

Be a partner to your health. Be a friend to yourself. Take a moment and unwind. Treat yourself: after all, you've earned it.

Respectfully,
Black Lover Naked.
